RETURNING TO WORK WITH CONFIDENCE AND SECURING THE RIGHT ROLE — Diana, Financial controller.

Background:

Diana reached out to me when she was due to return back to work after maternity leave, having taken redundancy from her previous position during her time off. Diana was an exceptional high achiever who had spent many years taking the express route up the promotion ladder, yet since she had been off she had started to suffer with occasional bouts of indecision and lack of confidence around finding the next right role for her; which she needed to achieve within the next 6 months.

She had begun to speak to recruiters in her industry and call on her networks, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was misaligned and was struggling to find the right role to fit her.

Coaching Solution:

Dianne opted for 6 one to one coaching sessions over a 3 month period.

Goals:

Diana wanted to explore some of the above and work on some mental blocks that were holding her back from finding the right role, at the right level, with the right flexibility to keep her home/work life integrated the way she wanted.

Outcomes:

Coaching helped Diane to clarify her expectations of her next role, define what her priorities were and what / wasn’t important in the search.

She determined what she wanted in terms of culture fit, personal development and other practical factors such as journey time to work so that she could be around for her son’s bedtimes.

During our time working together, Diane went on to secure a role for her that ticked all the boxes! She was excited about the CFO whom she found to be inspirational and the culture fit of the organisation was spot on.

More importantly, the organisation and her manager championed women in the workplace and the needs of working Mothers, so her priorities around her sons would be respected and supported.

Kate was my first experience of a coaching relationship, which I wanted to explore to clear some mental blocks that I had trying to find a job at the right level… from the start I found Kate very approachable but also very clear in setting appropriate challenges to what I was saying. Through the coaching Kate provided, I found that it helped me to clarify to myself what my expectations were, which helped me to work smarter not harder, and really define what my priorities were. Kate, was very good at exploring the unconscious beliefs that I held that were blocking me, and this gave me greater confidence when interviewing… I would absolutely recommend Kate to others, and would use her again without hesitation.
